Children’s Mental Health Week 2025
Wrapping Up Children’s Mental Health Week 2025 at Penketh Gymnastics Club
This week at Penketh Gymnastics Club, we’ve been proud to take part in Children’s Mental Health Week 2025, embracing this year’s theme: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself. It’s been an important opportunity to highlight the ways we can support our gymnasts’ well-being—both inside and outside of the gym.
One of the biggest additions to the gym this week has been our Worry Monster! 📝💜 This friendly creature is here to help our gymnasts express their worries in a safe and private way. Writing down thoughts can be a powerful tool for processing emotions, and we encourage all our gymnasts to use it whenever they need.

Alongside this, our ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’ display has been packed with ideas for personal growth, from setting goals to practicing kindness and self-care. We’ve had discussions about journaling, mindfulness, and identifying safe adults who gymnasts can turn to if they ever need to talk.

Mental well-being is just as important as physical strength, and we want to remind all our gymnasts that they are never alone. There are always people ready to listen and support them. For more resources, check out the British Gymnastics Safe & Fair Sport page, which provides additional support networks and guidance.
If you are a British Gymnastics member and have individual membership, one of your benefits is access to our free Aviva counselling advice line which is open to all ages. To access support please contact Aviva on 0117 934 0105 or email gpaclaims@aviva.com and provide your membership number and they will be able to assist you.
Let’s keep the conversation going, not just this week but every week! 💙✨ #KnowYourselfGrowYourself #CMHW2025 #TeamPenketh
