Vault Into Christmas Competition
Booking has now closed for our Vault Into Christmas competition. We will be arranging the groups and rounds and let you know times and additional spectator ticket availability as soon as we can. We cannot accept any late entries. Routine sheets and videos are now on our Facebook group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/penkethgymnastics (see featured posts)
NW competitions
Our gymnasts took part in 2 North West competitions during October. Bronwen was first up competing in copper level on 5th October. This is the highest level any of our gymnasts have competed this year. She came away with 1st on beam, 3rd on vault and 4th overall, for both Cheshire and Merseyside and North West! Next was our Zinc gymnasts NW competition on 25/26th October. We had a great competition with county medals for Abi (vault), Aaliyah (beam), Jasmine (beam) and Scarlett (all 4 pieces!) and NW medals for Abi (vault) and Scarlett (vault, beam and floor). A special mention to Scarlett, who was the overall champion in both Cheshire and Merseyside and North West for Zinc 12+! Well done to all gymnasts and coaches. Our final NW competition of 2025 is the NW teams competition (Paul Reay) on 9th November. We would love as many people as possible to come and watch. The competition is at Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan and our tin teams are competing at 10.30am and 12.30pm approximately. Please let us know if you are able to come and watch.
Judging
Well done to Bronwen, who has qualified as a club judge this month (as well as her competition achievements!). Julie has also requalified as a club judge so well done to both. Please let us know if you are interested in judging.
Clothing and drop off reminder
Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for classes. T-shirts, leggings and sweatshirts are all suitable for warming up. Please also make sure you drop your child off at the correct time and come in to collect them. Please see our drop off and collection policy here Drop-Off-and-Collection-Procedures-Created-September-2024.pdf
Phone policy survey
We are currently developing a Mobile Phone Usage Policy for our gymnasts and would love to hear your thoughts. Your feedback will help us shape a policy that reflects the needs and concerns of our community, ensuring it supports both safety and wellbeing. Please take a few minutes to complete our short survey here, if you haven’t already: https://form.jotform.com/252932157240049
Anti-Bullying Week – 10th – 16th November
The club will be participating in Anti-Bullying week and we have two initiatives for the gymnasts to get involved in;
- CRAZY HAIR WEEK – as gymnasts cannot wear odd socks in the gym, we have changed up the theme and will be running a CRAZY HAIR WEEK all week! We encourage all gymnasts to take part!
 - ‘Power for good’ team spirit activities. Look out on our social media for more information in the next week

Christmas party
We are holding our Christmas party on 7th December 1-4pm. It’s at Penketh Conservative Club on Meeting Lane. Tickets are going to be on sale soon. They cost £6 per child and includes a gift from Santa. Children must be accompanied by an adult, but adults do not need tickets. Please let us know if you can offer any raffle prizes or know any companies who can help. We will be having onesie week 24-29th November. Children can come in wearing onesies or PJs over their usual gymnastics clothes if they bring a donation for the tombola.
Our last class before Christmas will be Saturday 20th December and first class back Monday 5th January.
20th Birthday
In 2026 we will be celebrating our 20th birthday! We are looking at putting on some events and having merchandise available as well. If you would like to be involved in planning either of these, please email Catherine and we will add you to a WhatsApp group. We are all very excited about next year’s celebrations!
