April 2025 Newsletter
Under the Sea competition
We are very excited for our annual competition at the club on 5/6th April. We have 177 entries with 130 taking part on Saturday and 47 on Sunday. You should have all received information from Catherine about the competition. You can find answers to any questions you may have at Under the Sea Competition – Everything You Need to Know!
Second spectator tickets are available until 9am on Friday. Details are also on the email from Catherine but you can see the link here joinin.online Shop.
We will be decorating and setting up the gym on Friday evening from 6.30pm so please let us know if you can help. We also need people to help in the kitchen in round 1 and 3 on Saturday and 2 and 3 on Sunday.
Committee
We are looking for a secretary to join our committee. Catherine will be resigning as secretary and taking on the role of treasurer as this will really benefit the business. If you can help as secretary, please let us know. Our AGM is due to take place on Saturday 10th May at 10am. More information about this to be sent out soon.
Assessment weeks
Here are the assessment week dates for the rest of the year;
- 22nd-28th April
- 14th -19th July
- 22nd-27th September
- 1st – 6th December
All recreational gymnasts attending their class that week will be assessed for their next level. They will either receive a slip to say they have completed a level or their progress will be updated on the system.
General information and reminders
- Cancellations – We have a few cancelled classes this month. There are no classes on 5th April due to the competition. We are also closed on Good Friday (18th April) and Easter Monday (21st April). All other classes over the holidays are on as usual.
- Watching your child – Please remember when you are watching the last 5 minutes of your child’s class to sit on the larger black chairs. Please do not sit on the small brown chairs or block the path for people to walk through.
- Jewellery – please note, microporous tape is for new piercings only and needs to be provided by parents/guardians. We cannot continue to provide tape and apply it at the start of classes.
- Door code – please make sure anyone collecting your child has the door code so they are able to get in. We aren’t always able to answer the doorbell straight away if we are all busy coaching.
- Car park – please use the one way system when exiting the car park (past unit 5 and round the back) to help the flow of traffic
New judge
Congratulations to Moira, who passed her club judging exam. We now have 5 qualified club judges at our club. We’d love to have more so if you have an interest in gymnastics and want to know more, let us know.
