Vault Into Christmas Competition
Booking has now closed for our Vault Into Christmas competition. We will be arranging the groups and rounds and let you know times and additional spectator ticket availability as soon as we can. We cannot accept any late entries. Routine sheets and videos are now on our Facebook group.
Anti-Bullying Week – 11th 16th November
The club will be participating in Anti-Bullying week. This week we have two initiatives for the gymnasts to get involved in;
- CRAZY HAIR WEEK – as gymnasts cannot wear odd socks in the gym, we have changed up the theme and will be running a CRAZY HAIR WEEK all week! We encourage all gymnasts to take part!
- TEAM SPIRIT HANDS – we will also be handing out Team Spirit hands from 4th-9th November, gymnasts are to take them home and decorate with their pledge to show #TeamSpirit and #ChooseRespect then return them during Anti-Bullying week. We will be using the hands to create a ‘Respect Rope’ display in the gym and all returned hands will be put in a draw to win £10 tuck shop voucher and a Penketh insulated water bottle.
Penketh Club Membership
As an advanced reminder, Penketh Club Membership renews at the end of January 2025. Recreational membership for 2024 will be £20 per family and squad/full membership for 2024 will be £30 per family. If any members would like to split their payment over 2 months, please email Catherine (admin@penkethgymnastics.co.uk) to let her know.
Gymnasts’ Voice
We would like our gymnasts to have a more active role in club decisions, the club is after all FOR them! We will be introducing squad captains for each squad who will attend meetings with the committee. They will gather comments and ideas from their squad to put forwards at a termly meeting with members of the committee. The youngest squads and recreational gymnasts will be represented at these meeting by our Young Leadership Captains who will gather their comments and ideas in advance of the meeting.
Jewellery Reminder
As per British Gymnastics guidelines, all jewellery that can be removed must be removed. Earrings can only be taped during the first 6 weeks post piercing while healing then must be removed. We are constantly having to buy more tape so please only use it if you have to and take earrings out when you can.
Assessment week
Our next assessment week will be 2-7th December. All recreational gymnasts who are in that week will be assessed to see if they are ready to progress to the next level in our award scheme. If your child finishes a level, they will receive a slip. If they don’t, we will update their progress on the system.
Christmas party
We are holding our Christmas party on 8th December 1-4pm. It’s at Tetley Walker Club on Long Lane. Tickets are NOW ON SALE and cost £6 per child. This includes a gift from Santa. Tickets can be purchased here. Children must be accompanied by an adult, but adults do not need tickets. Please let us know if you can offer any raffle prizes or know any companies who can help. We will be having onesie week 1-7 December. Children can come in wearing onesies or PJs over their usual gymnastics clothes if they bring a donation for the tombola.
Our last class before Christmas will be Saturday 21st December and first class back 6th January.
