Under the Sea: A Splash-Tastic In-House Gymnastics Competition!
On the weekend of 5th–6th April 2025, Penketh Gymnastics Club transformed into a sea of sparkle and skill for our annual Under the Sea in-house competition — and what a fantastic weekend it was!
This year’s event saw our highest number of entries yet, with an incredible 174 gymnasts taking part across two action-packed days.
🐚 Saturday – Recreational Stars & Rising Talent
Saturday saw 128 gymnasts from our recreational classes and younger squads take to the floor. These athletes showcased their hard work and dedication through our Set Routines and vault — many for the very first time! For lots of gymnasts and their families, this was their first ever competition experience, and the energy in the gym was electric.
🌟 Sunday – Squad Showcases
On Sunday, 46 of our squad gymnasts took part, performing floor routines to music and competing on up to four apparatus: floor, vault, bars, and beam. Their routines demonstrated not only physical skill but confidence, artistry, and resilience — a testament to their training and teamwork.

We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to every coach, volunteer, judge, and parent who made the weekend possible. Whether you were spotting on apparatus, running the tuck shop, taking photos, or simply cheering from the sidelines — your support is what makes events like this so special. The competition ran smoothly thanks to your dedication.
Special thanks to our wonderful gym families, especially those attending for the first time. We’ve received fantastic feedback praising the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and how much fun the children had — something we’re incredibly proud of.
