December 2024 Newsletter

Onesie week

Onesie week is running 2nd-8th December. Children are allowed to come in wearing onesies or pyjamas (with leotard underneath). We ask that you send in a tombola donation or chocolate/alcohol we can use in a hamper for the raffle. As it’s also assessment week, pyjamas or onesies without a hood are preferable so that that they can move fully.

Christmas party

We are very excited that we are able to run our Christmas party again this year. The party is taking place at Tetley Walker Recreation Club, Long Lane, Warrington, WA2 8PU on 8th December, 1-4pm. Tickets are available from https://bit.ly/Penketh-JoinIn-Shop. Children must be accompanied by an adult, but adults do not need a ticket. Each child will also receive a gift at the party. We are asking everyone to bring a plate of food. See the list on the front desk for what we are asking for. We will have several stalls at the party, including face painting, tom bola, colouring and tattoos, as well as entertainment and music from the DJ. Please bring cash for the stalls. We hope to see you all there!

Christmas holidays

We are going to have 2 weeks off our recreational classes over Christmas. Our last classes before we break up will be on Saturday 21st December and classes will resume on Monday 6th January.  Squads may have some extra training over the Christmas period. If your child is in a squad, their coach will let you know their plans for the Christmas holidays.

Assessment week

We are going to have our third award scheme assessment week next week (2-7th December). For all recreational gymnasts who attend next week, we will assess them to see if they are ready to move onto the next level.  If they are, you will receive a slip to purchase the certificate and medal.  If they are not yet ready, you will be able to login to JoinIn to see what they still need to complete.

Vault into Christmas competition

Well done to everyone who took part in the Vault into Christmas competition on 24th November. We were so proud of all the children who took part. The ages ranged from our reception children up to 17 years old and we had a mix of children who come for 1 hour per week up to some squad gymnasts doing up to 9 hours. Thank you to everyone who attended, we hope you all enjoyed it. We will have some pictures on the noticeboard soon to show some of the children who took part. The link to the photos DE photo took has been emailed out.
